Why Russians reduced the purchase of currency
According to the results of 2018, the Central Bank records a drop in demand among the population for the acquisition of foreign currency.
This is primarily due to a decrease in real income and, as a result, a fall in demand for foreign tourism. The abilities of the accumulation of funds are also reduced.
Representatives of the regulator noted the traditional growth of purchasing activity in the foreign exchange market in July, when 6.9 billion dollars were purchased or withdrawn, but it was 23% lower than the indicators of the previous year.
June data turned out to be even less, when the Russians required only $ 5.7 billion (less data in 2017 by 34%). A similar situation is observed and relative to the indicators of 2016.
